Job summary

Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support safe and efficient anesthesia care. Responsibilities include cleaning and maintaining anesthesia equipment, assisting providers during procedures, and ensuring proper preparation of machines, carts, and specialized equipment.

The role may support Main ORs at both Boston Children’s and Franciscan Children’s locations, with part-time afternoon shifts (4-5 hours).

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of clinical work experience in a hospital setting.
• Prior anesthesia experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and stock the anesthesia workroom and equipment in all operating rooms and satellite anesthetizing locations
• Assist anesthesia providers in the safe and efficient care of patients receiving anesthesia
• Provide specialized equipment to support anesthesia staff when needed
• Prepare anesthesia machines and carts for use the following day
• Assemble and prepare intravenous (IV) solutions for anesthesia providers
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to support prompt OR turnover
• Assist with difficult airway management by providing necessary equipment (e.g., video laryngoscope, fiberoptic intubation cart)
• Prepare age-appropriate anesthesia equipment, monitors, and airway support

Schedule

This is a part time position. Will work 4-5 hr shifts in the afternoons.
