Job summary

Boston Children's Hospital in Massachusetts is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support safe, efficient anesthesia care. The role cleans, maintains, and stocks equipment; assists providers during procedures; prepares machines, carts, and IV solutions; and collaborates with the perioperative team to ensure fast OR turnover.

This full-time day shift rotates between Waltham and Needham locations, with on-call hours available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent G.E.D. is required.
• Anesthesia support, EMT or other healthcare experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Clean, maintain, and stock the anesthesia workroom and equipment in operating rooms and satellite anesthetizing locations
• Assist anesthesia providers in the safe and efficient care of patients receiving anesthesia
• Provide specialized equipment to support anesthesia staff when needed
• Prepare anesthesia machines and carts for use the following day
• Assemble and prepare intravenous (IV) solutions for anesthesia providers
• Collaborate with the perioperative team to support prompt OR turnover
• Assist with difficult airway management by providing necessary equipment (e.g., video laryngoscope, fiberoptic intubation cart)
• Prepare age-appropriate anesthesia equipment, monitors, and airway support

Education
