The Anesthesia Technician assists in OR suites and off-floor sites by setting up, moving, preparing, and maintaining anesthesia machines, equipment, and supplies as directed by the Anesthesiologist. Responsibilities include assisting with invasive and non-invasive monitoring, participating in training and education of new personnel, and maintaining a safe, aseptic environment for patients. All duties are performed adhering to nursing care standards and departmental policies.

The technician reports to the certified Anesthesia Technician Supervisor and the Chief CRNA.

Requirements for Hire:

• Two years of anesthesia support experience or EMT-B certification
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), CCMA, or CNA certification

Requirements for Continued Employment:

• EMT-B, CMA, CCMA, or CNA certification within 24 months of hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year in healthcare
• Preferred: 1 year in Recovery, ICU, ER, OR, or Medical/Surgical Unit

Education/Training:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion and certification/licensure in EMT-Basic, Medical Assistant, or CNA program within 24 months of hire
• Preferred: Associate’s degree or coursework in biological sciences

• Capable of functioning in a fast-paced, stressful environment with minimal supervision
