Position Overview

The Anesthesia Tech Supervisor serves as the operational supervisor to the Anesthesia Technicians. This position supervises and oversees the day-to-day functions of Anesthesia Technicians.

Qualifications for Hire

1. Five years of anesthesia support experience or Certified Anesthesia Technician (Cer.A.T.)
2. Technologist by the American Society of Anesthesia Technologists and Technicians (ASATT)
3. LPN, or EMT-P with a minimum of 3+ years' experience in anesthesia support
4. EMT-B, CNA Licensure, CMA, or CCMA with a minimum of 5+ years' experience in anesthesia support

Current BLS certification is required.

Continued Employment Requirements

1. Current Certification in A.T., Technologist, or Technologist by ASATT
2. LPN, or EMT-P with at least 3 years' experience
3. EMT-B, CNA Licensure, CMA, or CCMA with at least 5 years' experience
4. Current BLS certification

Experience

• Required: 3-5 years in a medical support role in Anesthesia
• Preferred: Over 5 years as a Certified Anesthesia Technician or in a support role for an anesthesia department, plus at least 2 years supervisory experience

Education/Training

• Required: High School Diploma or equivalent; additional certifications (CAT, EMT-P, LPN, EMT-B, CMA, CCMA, CNA) within 24 months of hire
• Preferred: Conflict Resolution training and Bachelor's Degree in a health-related field

Independent Actions

• Prioritize staff activities and communicate effectively with anesthesia providers
• Oversee cleaning of airway equipment and maintain logs for compliance
• Handle, transport, and access medication and supplies as needed

Supervisory Responsibilities

Supervises Anesthesia Technicians.

Additional Requirements

• Availability to work any shift, including nights, weekends, and holidays
• Flexibility to oversee off-shift operations when needed

Physical and Sensory Requirements

Includes lifting less than 20 lbs., standing, sitting, bending, walking, climbing, reaching, repetitive motions, and sensory skills such as hearing and visual acuity.
