Responds to and investigates all anesthesia machine alarms, ensuring preventative maintenance is completed and malfunctioning equipment is replaced. Maintains and organizes the anesthesia environment, equipment, supplies, and personnel to facilitate department functions. Makes available, assembles, and assists with operation of specialized equipment such as humidification units, fiber optic endoscopic equipment, rapid infusion devices, patient warming devices, neuromuscular devices, infusion pumps, syringes, balloon pump initial setups, and TEE setup. Sets up OR/Cath/IR for cases, including preparation of laryngoscope, intubation equipment, IV solutions, tubing, and warming devices. Anticipates needs of licensed anesthesia providers in invasive monitor insertion and procedures. Inventories, orders, and maintains departmental supply stock, ensuring medications are secured and properly disposed of, and monitors refrigerators for medication stock. Promotes a safe environment, performs appropriate actions in emergency situations, and adheres to regulatory standards and facility policies. Provides training and orientation to staff and new personnel, assists in developing training programs, completes staff evaluations, and offers constructive feedback. Performs other duties as assigned. Provides oversight for anesthesia support functions in all departments. Ensures anesthesia tech staff are appropriately assigned to cover cases in surgery and outlying departments. Assists anesthesia professional staff in preparation and draping of patients for invasive monitoring procedures.
Ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements [Required]
Detailed technical knowledge and ability to troubleshoot anesthesia delivery system, scavenger system, gas analyzer, EKG, pulse oximeter and any other anesthesia related equipment [Required]
Knowledge of all the regulatory standards that impact the anesthesia support role [Required]
Knowledge and skills related to aseptic/ sterile technique and sterility of supplies [Required]
Ability to lead employees in the delivery of patient care within their specialty area [Required]
Ability to lead performance improvement initiatives [Required]
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required]
Ability to set priorities and respond to stressful situations [Preferred]
Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure in a stressful environment [Preferred]
Previous management / leadership experience [Preferred]
Knowledge of decontamination and disinfection principles related to anesthesia equipment [Preferred]
High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

2+ experience in healthcare field [Required]
Certified Anesthesia Technologist (Cer. A.T.T.) [Preferred]
Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]
