The Anesthesia Technician works under the supervision of a physician to provide analysis and verbal reporting of pertinent Swan-Ganz catheterization data during insertion, calibration, and post-transfer hookup. This individual prepares and hooks up invasive physiologic monitoring and recording equipment. The Anesthesia Technician prepares and maintains anesthesia circuits, machines, and monitoring equipment and inserts venous cannulae utilizing adequate protocol to assure optimum results. This individual will provide post-puncture sheath removal hemostasis and ensure adequate extremity perfusion. The Anesthesia Technician works in accordance with Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) policies, procedures, and protocols, demonstrating customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism, self-development, and teamwork.
Minimum required: Post-high school education or completion of a technical program in a healthcare field within 6 months of hire. Preferred: Associate science degree or formal healthcare education.
Minimum required: Basic computer skills and one year of technical experience. Preferred: Phlebotomy or IV start experience.
Minimum required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire. Preferred: Basic EMT certification and BLS at the time of hire.
