Job summary

Stanford Health Care is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Anesthesia Technical Services Department in Palo Alto. You will support the Manager, oversee daily operations, and champion patient safety while ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.

You will coordinate education for department staff, participate in hiring, and manage production and budget reporting. A strong lead role will be required, with emphasis on collaboration across hospital teams.

Qualifications

• Three years of progressively responsible and directly related work experience as an Anesthesia Technician, including one year of lead or supervisory experience.
• Continuing education: acquire and maintain thirty anesthesia credits every two years.
• ACLS and BLS certifications required.
• Cer.A.T. and Cer.A.T.T. certifications required within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager in overseeing anesthesia department operations and ensure policy compliance.
• Promote and lead patient safety practices in daily activities.
• Coordinate and document required education and training for anesthesia staff.
• Evaluate workflows and processes to identify improvements while meeting regulatory requirements.
• Implement OR department policies and collaborate with peers to reach department goals.
• Participate in staff interviews and assist with selecting new hires.
• Prepare production and budget reports; communicate issues to leadership.
• Serve as liaison between management, operating rooms, clinics, and hospital departments.
• Provide guidance on decontamination and sterilization of instruments and endoscopes.
