Job summary

Advocate Health’s Aurora facility is seeking a full-time technician to support the Anesthesiology team. You will help prepare anesthesia equipment, maintain sterile supplies, and assist clinicians during procedures.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least one year of patient care experience, with BLS certification within six months. The role includes on-call obligations and a 40-hour workweek.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of patient care or healthcare setting experience.
• BLS for Healthcare Providers must be obtained within 6 months unless exempt.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with good customer service.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and prepare anesthesia instruments and equipment to ensure supplies are ready.
• Prepare machines, equipment, and anesthesia cart for delivery of anesthesia.
• Assist during difficult intubations or patient crises as needed.
• Assist with post-procedure cleanup and setup for next case.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and escalate major problems.
• Provide age-appropriate care and adapt to patient needs per department policies.
