Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn is seeking an Anesthesia Technician II to stock anesthetic supplies for ORs, maintain equipment, ensure availability, and assist clinicians with patient care.

Responsibilities include assisting during induction and emergence, equipment setup and calibration, sterile technique for lines, and collaboration with circulating nurses. ASATT certification and a bachelor’s degree are preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of anesthesia tech program or 2 years of experience supporting anesthesia clinicians.
• Familiarity with Operating Room drug and equipment terminology.
• Ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
• Lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs.
• Basic computer skills.
• ASATT certification preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• During induction, maintenance and emergence from anesthesia.
• Assist with regional anesthesia, invasive monitoring devices.
• Assist with pain blocks, epidurals, spinals, line placement and patient positioning.
• Transport patients and follow directives.
• Communicate with circulating nurses and respond to codes as assigned.
• Calibrate and run QA/QC analyses on anesthesia machines.
• Troubleshoot anesthesia machines and perform standard checks.
• Set up Level I RIS, syringe pumps, capnographs, TEG and TEEs.
• Prepare and assist with IVs, central lines, arterial lines and catheters using sterile technique.
• Ensure sterility and cleanliness of all machines; inform on repairs.
