Job summary

UVA Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician for on-site, full-time engagement in Charlottesville. No prior anesthesia experience is required; you will receive structured training and mentorship while supporting anesthesia providers across transplant, cardiac, obstetric, trauma, endoscopy, and MRI services.

You will set up machines, prep rooms, handle airway and monitoring equipment, and participate in fast-paced cases with ongoing shifts and handoffs.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Experience: 1 year of experience required. Experience as CNA, EMT, PCT or CMA highly preferred.
• Licensure: BLS Certification required. Additional certifications/licensure may be required for the position.

Responsibilities

• Set up and check anesthesia machines before scheduled procedures.
• Prepare operating rooms and spaces with airway, monitoring, and specialty equipment.
• Support invasive monitoring setups, rapid infusers, and related anesthesia equipment.
• Turn over rooms between cases and restore supplies to established levels.
• Respond to provider requests for airway assistance, equipment, or emergency support.
• Troubleshoot equipment concerns and communicate needs promptly to the team.
• Clean, return, and organize equipment for readiness throughout the shift.
• Provide clear handoff of outstanding needs for the next shift.
