Job summary

Merrimack Health in Methuen, MA is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support operating room services. You will help with anesthesia equipment maintenance, decontamination, sterilization, and procurement under supervision of anesthetists.

The role requires a high school diploma; preferred experience with anesthesia/respiratory equipment and biomedical skills; training offered for candidates from all backgrounds; schedule includes 80 hours per week, 9:00am - 5:30pm.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Previous experience in handling anesthesia and/or respiratory therapy equipment and working knowledge of biomedical skills preferred.
• Training available for the right candidate - medical professionals from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities related to equipment decontamination and sterilization, to assure an ongoing infection control program.
• Demonstrates skills/knowledge appropriate to patient age-related categories as defined by LGH - neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric
• Equipment decontamination and sterilization
• Ensuring availability of supplies and equipment
• Assisting the anesthetists as needed
