Trinity Health operates Chelsea Hospital in Chelsea, Michigan, seeking an Anesthesia Technician for the Day Shift in the Operating Room. The role supports anesthesiologists by preparing patients, monitoring during procedures, and ensuring equipment readiness for anesthesia administration.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 12 months of related experience, with formal education in medical terminology or health sciences preferred.

Qualifications

• One year formal education in medical terminology, health sciences, EKG class or pharmacology would be helpful.
• 12 months related experience required, critical care unit experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Anesthesia technicians are integral members of the anesthesia patient care team who assist anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists in a variety of specialized and complex invasive and non-invasive anesthesia procedures.
• Provides care in collaboration with licensed anesthesia providers by preparing the patient and assisting in monitoring the patient's condition during various anesthesia procedures, taking into consideration age specific, developmental, and cultural needs of the patient.
• The anesthesia technician also ensures the acquisition, preparation, and application of the equipment and supplies that are required for the administration of anesthesia.

In our Operating Room at Chelsea, more than 5,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries are performed annually in the fields of gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry, plastic surgery, and spine surgery.
