Job summary

Trinity Health Michigan’s Chelsea Hospital in Chelsea, MI is seeking a qualified Surgical Technologist for the Operating Room. You will prepare instruments, maintain a sterile field, and pass instruments to surgeons during a variety of procedures, supporting gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, and more.

Requirements include graduation from a certified surgical technologist program and certification within six months.

Surgical Technologist Department: Operating Room - In our Operating Room at Chelsea, more than 5,000 inpatient and outpatient surgeries are performed annually in the fields of gynecology, orthopedics, ophthalmology, general surgery, otorhinolaryngology, podiatry, plastic surgery, and spine surgery.

Position Purpose

Utilizes the principles and practices of surgical asepsis in the preparation of surgical instruments and supplies, maintaining a sterile field and passing instruments to surgeons within the sterile field. Anticipates the needs of the surgeon by demonstrating knowledge of surgical procedures and the anatomy and physiology of the human body.

Required Qualifications

• Graduation from a certified surgical technologist program
• Surgical Technologist Certification is required within six months of employment

Scheduling Requirements

Candidates will commit to work a minimum of forty-eight (48) out of fifty- two (52) weekends each year. Candidates will be paid for an extra four hours per pay period above their hours worked as a benefit of committing to the weekend alternative program.
