Job summary

Trinity Health Chelsea Hospital is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to join the Courtyard East unit in Chelsea, MI. This full-time role supports Medical-Surgical patients and post-operative care, with 12-hour day shifts.

Under the direction of a registered nurse, you will assist with ADLs, maintain a clean and safe patient environment, and record essential patient information to ensure accurate documentation and coordinated care.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or minimum 18 years of age.
• Recent experience desired.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance, lifting greater than 35 pounds using mechanical assistance.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with ADLs including bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation.
• Record patient information and required data for documentation.
• Work under the direction of a registered nurse to support patient care and environment.

Courtyard East is a 41 bed unit specializing in surgical post-operative care, telemetry, stroke, chronic pain management and patient education. Location: Chelsea, MI hospital

Position Purpose:

The PCA, under the direction of a registered nurse, is responsible for direct patient care considering age specific, developmental, cultural and spiritual needs. They assist in establishing and maintaining a patient care environment that is clean, safe and conducive to patient/family wellbeing including concepts of relationship-based care. Training is provided to prepare our colleagues for success. The PCA assists patient in completing ADLs including: Bathing, showering, toileting, positioning, turning, transferring, ambulation using assistive devices and with feeding and menu selection. They are responsible to record patient information and required data in appropriate areas in order to meet documentation requirements.

Shifts Available:

7am-7:30pm

Status Available:

Full time, benefit eligible (72 hours per pay period – every two weeks)

Weekend and holiday rotation required
