Job summary

Baptist Health System in Texas is seeking an anesthesia technician to assist physicians in monitoring patients and preparing drugs, fluids and anesthetics, and to set up, operate and maintain anesthesia monitoring equipment in the operating room.

You will complete required competencies, join a dedicated team, and contribute to patient safety and efficient procedures. A high school diploma and BLS certification are required or expected within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred experience as surgical attendant or nursing assistant in acute care or ambulatory surgery.
• Active BLS certification or ability to obtain within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Job Summary

This position may qualify for a sign-on bonus

Assist physicians in the physiological monitoring of patients and the preparation of drugs, fluids, anesthetics and equipment ancillary to operative intervention of other procedures requiring anesthesia; set up, operate and maintain monitoring and anesthesia equipment.

Completes established competencies for the position within designated introductory period. Other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

MINIMUM EDUCATION: High School Graduate or equivalent

PREFERRED EDUCATION:

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE: Previous surgical attendant or nursing assistant in acute care or ambulatory surgery

environment

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Previous experience as an anesthesia technician

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSUR :

PREFERRED CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSURE: Anesthesia Technician

REQUIRED COURSES/COMPLETIONS (e.g., CPR): Must have active healthcare provider Basic Life

Support on hire (ARC or AHA); however, must have AHA Healthcare Provider BLS within 60 days of hire
