Job summary

OhioHealth Surgery Main in Columbus seeks an anesthesia equipment technician responsible for the delivery, timeliness, and upkeep of anesthesia supplies, drugs and equipment across operating rooms. You will troubleshoot, calibrate monitors, and assist with patient transport and OR readiness under safety-first protocols.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Two years of recent progressive perioperative experience.
• Computer knowledge to troubleshoot/repair anesthesia equipment within scope of responsibility.
• Knowledge of surgical environment, inventory control, anesthesia drugs, equipment and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Supports and maintains daily anesthesia department equipment and supplies in each operating room; calibrates monitors per unit protocol.
• Assists with OR readiness through patient transportation, positioning and room preparation; acts as a second assistant to surgeon and assists with draping and exposure.
• Gathers, checks, organizes equipment, gas cylinders, supplies and instruments; opens sterile supplies and instruments.
• Identifies and evaluates anesthesia supplies and equipment; collaborates with supply chain to resolve back orders and placement of par levels.
• Prepares anesthesia orders and stocks drugs and supplies in each OR daily; performs stocking and maintenance tasks.
