Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support the anesthesia department by cleaning, assembling, stocking and dispensing equipment. Under direct supervision, you will assist in direct patient care and help prepare and transport patients to the OR and PACU/ICU.

You will ensure supplies are available, decontaminate items, and collaborate with Environmental Services, Pharmacy and Unit Manager to maintain inventory par levels and facilitate efficient OR turnover.

Qualifications

• High school graduate required and Health Science courses taken or under study.
• Minimum 6 months anesthesia tech experience within last 3 years or graduate of Anesthesia Tech program.
• Understanding of anesthesia department equipment and asepsis.
• Must have good manual dexterity and ability to lift 45 lbs.
• Must have the ability to stand or walk continuously and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assembles basic anesthesia setup and equipment.
• Prepares anesthesia procedure trays and needed supplies.
• Cleans, sterilizes and decontaminates anesthesia-related items.
• Maintains stock levels in anesthesia machines and carts.
• Coordinates patient monitoring and equipment availability with PACU and ICU.
• Assists with patient transport to OR and PACU/ICU and with invasive monitoring equipment.
