Job summary

HP is seeking an Android OS Software Developer to help design, develop, integrate, and maintain HP-specific Android OS capabilities for enterprise and retail products. You will work across the Android platform stack to improve device manageability, platform security, deployment, servicing, and integration with retail peripherals.

Qualifications

• Experience developing Android platform or system-level software.
• Experience with Android Enterprise, device-policy management, OEMConfig, zero-touch enrollment, MDM or UEM platforms.
• Knowledge of Android platform security (SELinux, verified boot, secure boot and signing).

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, integrate, and maintain Android OS components for HP products.
• Develop HP-specific Android features and system services for HP devices.
• Implement device-management functionality including provisioning, policy enforcement, telemetry, and MDM/UEM integration.
• Develop security features to strengthen platform integrity and trust.
• Develop and enhance peripheral interfaces and services to ease integration across HP products.
• Use debugging tools to analyze failures, performance, and security defects.
• Participate in design reviews, code reviews, test planning, and release-readiness.
• Create documentation covering architecture, interfaces, configuration, testing, and troubleshooting.
• Collaborate with distributed teams including ODMs, silicon vendors, peripheral suppliers, and product teams.
