Job summary
HP is seeking a Linux/Android Embedded Firmware Developer in Austin, TX to design and implement firmware for Linux/Android-based video conferencing devices. You will work across architecture, contribute to platform capabilities, and ensure secure, high-performance embedded applications.
You will mentor junior engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive agile practices while delivering robust firmware and thorough testing.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in embedded software development.
- Proficiency in embedded C/C++ and debugging in embedded environments.
- Experience with Linux/Android internals is a plus.
- Knowledge of Networking/Wifi, Security, USB, or video interfaces is beneficial.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop firmware for Linux- and/or Android-based video conferencing devices.
- Build and enhance platform capabilities below the framework layer.
- Lead the development of secure, high-performance embedded C/C++ applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define architecture, standards and best practices.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex system-level issues in embedded environments.
- Contribute to project planning, documentation and testing strategies.
- Mentor junior engineers and share expertise across the team.
- Drive continuous improvement through agile development practices.
