Job summary

Speechify is hiring an Android Team Lead for its core Android product. This role is remote in the United States and focuses on end-to-end feature ownership, reliability, code reviews, and cross‑functional collaboration with Product and Design.

You will mentor engineers, drive automated verification, and shape how we ship high‑quality audio-first experiences across devices. A strong Kotlin background and leadership experience are essential.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including time leading a team or owning a major surface while staying hands-on

Responsibilities

• Own major features end to end, working closely with our design team — from the decision through to release.
• Own, maintain, and improve reliability metrics for key features
• Review pull requests and give constructive feedback
• Unblock the team when blockers arise and ensure coordinated releases
• Keep shared components maintainable and well-documented
• Shape team processes and drive automated verification ahead of QA
• Plan sprints so focus remains on decisions and high-impact work
• Assess review scope and sign-off requirements for different areas
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering to align constraints early
• Handle critical issues and deliver nightly builds for QA
• Mentor junior engineers and help them grow their skills
