- Respond to fire, rescue, and medical emergencies with professionalism and urgency.
- Deliver high-quality pre-hospital care as an EMT or Paramedic, making a real difference in critical moments.
- Operate and maintain firefighting apparatus, equipment, and facilities.
- Participate in ongoing training, drills, and community outreach.
- Uphold the highest standards of safety, teamwork, and public service.
What We’re Looking For
- Certification: Iowa or National Firefighter I (Firefighter II preferred), Hazardous Materials Operations, and Iowa EMT-Basic or Paramedic certification.
- Experience: Lateral entry available for those with 2–3 years of full-time experience in a comparable agency.
- Requirements: Valid Iowa driver’s license; age 18–64; all required certifications submitted with application.
- Physical Readiness: Completion of a current physical agility evaluation and written exam through the Central Iowa Fire and EMS Testing Consortium.
- Character: Integrity, reliability, and a strong desire to serve.
