Job summary

Bay de Noc Community College is seeking an SI Leader for Anatomy & Physiology at the Iron Mountain campus for the Winter 2026/May 2026 term. The role provides weekly SI sessions to assist students in a traditionally difficult course, with sessions aligned to the lecture schedule and mandatory office hours.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated competence (at least an A-) in BIOL 213, Anatomy & Physiology or a comparable course.
• Two years of college coursework completed.
• Strong foundation in biology, nursing, or related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Tutoring experience.

Responsibilities

• Attend training prior to the start of the semester.
• Attend all scheduled class sessions.
• Plan for each SI session held.
• Hold one two-hour SI sessions each week.
• Hold three office hours throughout the week to enhance SI session planning.
• Meet with the course instructor weekly to ensure accuracy of SI material.
• Meet with the SI Manager weekly during the semester to improve SI sessions.
• Take notes and complete all assignments and readings.
• Advertise SI to students.
• Take attendance at each SI session and report weekly attendance.
• Utilize session planning forms for organized SI sessions.
• Create a supportive learning environment during SI sessions.
• Teach study skills and collaborative learning techniques.
• Administer and record data for SI evaluation surveys.
• Mentor and advise students on support services.
• Attend regular training sessions.
• Provide services to students via the Student Success Center.
• Any other duties as assigned
