Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform a variety of laboratory procedures per established protocols. The role includes setting up tests, preparing specimens, and reporting results with strict QA/QA measures.

Candidate must hold NYSED licensure and have at least 1 year of related experience. A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology or a related field is preferred to support advanced lab work.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related field preferred.
• Licensed by NYSED as Clinical Laboratory Technologist (LIC-CLT or LIC-CYTOT) required.
• Minimum of 1 year work experience and/or training in the area noted above required.

Responsibilities

• Set up and perform routine and/or complex laboratory tests and procedures; prepare and test specimens and report results.
• Follow established in-process quality control procedures and record data.
• Perform routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Troubleshoot basic instrumentation, culture media, chemicals, reagents, stains, solutions, and methodologies.
• Maintain supplies at the work station.
• Ensure and maintain quality control and assurance activities.
• Use Infection Control practices and procedures.
