Job summary

Northwell Health is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Technologist to perform a range of laboratory procedures and quality assurance activities. The role requires exercising independent judgment within established protocols and maintaining accurate equipment records.

Qualified candidates hold a NYS license, a Bachelor's in Medical Technology or related field, and have at least one year of experience or training in a clinical laboratory setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in Medical Technology, Basic Science or related field.
• Licensed by New York State Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
• Minimum of one year of work experience or training in the area.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and performs routine and complex laboratory tests and reports results.
• Follows established quality control procedures and records data.
• Performs routine and preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Troubleshoots instrumentation, culture media, reagents and methodologies.
• Maintains supplies at the work station and ensures quality control activities.
• Applies Infection Control practices and procedures.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science or related field

Licensed by NYS Education Department as Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Minimum 1 year work experience or training in the area
