Job summary

Northwell Health is hiring for a clinical laboratory role in New York. The position performs routine to complex laboratory procedures, maintains equipment, tests specimens, and reports results following established protocols.

Strong emphasis on quality control, infection prevention, and independent judgment is required. Qualified candidates hold a NYS license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist, a relevant bachelor's degree, and at least one year of related experience or training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical technology, basic science or related field is required.
• Licensed by NYS Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist is required.
• Minimum of one year work experience or related training is required.

Responsibilities

• Sets-up and performs a variety of routine and/or complex laboratory tests and procedures.
• Prepares and tests specimens for examination and reports results.
• Follows established in-process quality control procedures including recording data.
• Performs routine and/or preventive maintenance on laboratory equipment.
• Troubleshoots basic instrumentation, culture media, chemicals, reagents and methodologies.
• Maintains sufficient supplies at work station.
• Ensures and maintains quality control and assurance activities.
• Uses Infection Control practices and procedures.
• Performs related duties as required.

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Basic Science or related field

Licensed by New York State Education Department as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist

Minimum of one year work experience and/or training
