Position Overview

The Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology has an outstanding opportunity for an Anatomic Pathology Technologist.

Work Schedule
  • Full-time (40 hours per week)
  • Monday - Friday, 11am-7:30pm

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree with coursework in chemistry, biology, and other biological sciences, including microscopy, plus certification, or certification within two years of hire at the Technologist level by a recognized certifying agency (e.g., ASCP, ASCLS, MSMA), and one year of clinical anatomic laboratory experience.
  • OR equivalent education/experience.
  • Desired: Knowledge of embedding and cutting histology samples.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Perform all duties of an Anatomic Pathology Technician.
  • Train new hires in histology and Immunohistochemistry (IHC).
  • Conduct research, validation, titration, and work-up of stains and methodologies.
  • Perform technical procedures related to Renal protocols.
  • Develop and modify protocols in histology and IHC following SOPs.
  • Monitor temperature readings of instruments and reagents.
  • Assess new equipment performance post-installation.
  • Follow safety practices and departmental policies.
  • Prepare the laboratory for inspections by agencies such as CAP and JHACO.
  • Navigate laboratory network systems for projects and metrics.
  • Provide quality customer service for Anatomic Pathology services.
  • Assist with various services within the department as assigned.
