Job summary

St. Peter's Hospital is seeking a full-time Anatomic Pathology Tech to join our Pathology team. Under supervision, you will assess and prepare daily work assignments in a clerical lab role, including filing slides, preparing slides for send-out, and conference support.

You will perform duties per SOP, track specimens, and assist with procedures while maintaining safety and quality standards. The position offers growth opportunities and a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent Required.
• Excellent organizational skills, detail oriented, and communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, and adaptable to tasks.

Responsibilities

• Keeps up to date on policies, procedures, skills, and competency surveys.
• Troubleshoot/problem solve minor/unusual problems promptly.
• Complete required CE credits.
• Access and understand SOPs and manuals within department.
• Follow SOPs for specimen storage/handling/reference lab testing.
• Develop a basic understanding of operation of instrumentation/equipment per SOP.
• Use Copath to track specimens (overdue, pending logs).
• Access system to find patient/test information and results.
• Assist with procedures and small projects as needed.
• Complete annual review of lab safety and hazardous materials procedures.
