Job summary

UF Health Leesburg Hospital is seeking an Anatomic Pathology Assistant (PRN) to support surgical, cytology, and flow cytometry specimen processing. Responsibilities include accessioning, sending out specimens, coordinating frozen sections, and maintaining AP supply orders.

Qualified candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, 1–3 years of experience, and English proficiency. Medical terminology is preferred, with strong attention to detail and customer service skills essential for

Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.

Responsibilities

Position Performance Evaluation Completion
Monitors, maintains AP supply orders
Competent in accessioning specimens in Cerner, Star, Copia
Exhibits exceptional customer service skills with outside offices and medical staff
Faxes/ scans documents
Schedules frozen section procedures
Knows how to do Send-Out specimens
Review Laboratory policies that pertain to job
Knowledge of medical terminology
Orders specimen pick-ups through lab couriers
Familiarity with ICD-10 codes, CPT codes
Performs Cytology processing, when needed
Completes assigned work as scheduled in allotted time frame
Attends Staff Meetings
Required competencies and mandatory education as assigned
Demonstrates behavior standards that enhance positive interactions with physicians, and peers
