Job summary

PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy seeks a senior Analytics Engineering Manager to lead the semantic layer and data product initiatives in a Databricks-native environment. You will own Gold-layer metrics, define reusable metric views, and drive governance across BI and AI model inputs.

Current responsibilities include shaping the data product catalog, coordinating with Informatics and QA, and building a team culture around scalable analytics delivery while partnering with BI and data engineering teams.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in data or analytics engineering with at least 2 years in people management or team lead capacity.
• Deep hands-on Databricks expertise: Unity Catalog, metric views, Delta Lake, medallion architecture, and Silver-to-Gold promotion logic in production.
• Experience owning or building a semantic layer function: metric definitions, data product development, and reuse across consumers.
• Ability to articulate analytics engineering as distinct from data engineering and BI.

Responsibilities

• Owns the Unity Catalog semantic layer as the canonical source of metric definitions and data products.
• Develops reusable data products in Unity Catalog and ensures acceptance criteria for analytics requests.
• Sets standards for metric view design, naming, versioning, and documentation in line with governance.
• Partners with Data Architecture, Data Governance, Informatics, and QA to ensure alignment and quality across the data platform.
