Job summary

PANTHERx Rare Pharmacy in Pittsburgh, PA, is seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to design and maintain the governed semantic layer on our Databricks platform. You will establish canonical metric definitions and enable downstream analytics, dashboards, and AI model inputs.

You will lead the transformation of legacy logic into reusable metric views, mentor junior engineers, and collaborate with governance, QA, and BI teams to ensure data quality and accessibility across the organization.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of progressive analytics engineering or data engineering experience with production ownership of a semantic layer or governed consumption layer.
• Deep, hands-on Databricks experience: Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, medallion architecture, and Gold-layer design.
• Advanced SQL and strong PySpark and Python proficiency for complex promotion logic and metric definitions.

Responsibilities

• Designs and builds Unity Catalog metric views as canonical, versioned definitions with ownership and access controls.
• Designs Gold-layer tables and Silver-to-Gold promotion logic for scalable semantic layer architectures.
• Migrates legacy EDW views and ad-hoc SQL to governed metric views with output parity.
• Mentors Analytics Engineers, reviews PRs in Azure DevOps & Git to maintain code quality.
• Collaborates with Data Governance and stakeholders to define precise metric definitions and data contracts.
