Job summary

Dexter Technologies Inc. is seeking an Analytics Engineer to bridge data engineering and BI. You will design and optimize SQL views, staging tables, and star schemas while building semantic Power BI models for business reporting.

You’ll monitor Azure Data Factory pipelines, handle failures, and collaborate with Finance, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate data across the organization. The role offers breadth and ownership on a small team, with opportunities to evolve data

Qualifications

• 3+ years in a data-focused role with hands-on SQL
• Solid Power BI experience building semantic models and DAX measures
• Dimensional modeling fundamentals (star schemas, SCDs)
• Experience translating requirements from business stakeholders into data models
• Strong data integrity and careful joins to avoid incorrect reports

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain SQL views, staging tables, and models in Azure SQL data warehouse
• Develop Power BI semantic models and dashboards for business users
• Monitor Azure Data Factory pipelines and Power BI dataset refreshes; troubleshoot failures
• Make minor modifications to pipelines as requirements change
• Partner with business SMEs to translate reporting needs into data definitions
• Document data models, metrics, and reporting logic for data lineage
• Support standards for naming, DAX style, and semantic model design
• Identify opportunities to improve data workflows and adopt new tools
