Job summary

Underdog, a fast-growing remote-first sports tech company, is seeking an Analytics Engineer II to join the Regulatory Reporting team. You will build the data platform powering the prediction markets business, scaling the infrastructure from the ground up with dbt models, automated validations, and end-to-end pipelines.

You will work across engineering, product, compliance, and leadership to keep reporting accurate and compliant, while owning data quality and contributing to the on-call rotation.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL: comfortable writing complex queries and analyzing raw data.
• Hands-on experience with dbt in building data models and pipelines.
• Engineering-minded with a focus on automation and reliable systems.
• Able to own data quality and operate under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Run daily validation across regulatory reporting submissions and own triage when issues arise.
• Investigate data issues end-to-end, document findings, and provide actionable guidance.
• Build and maintain dbt models tailored for regulatory reporting, robust to upstream changes.
• Implement automated tests and validations to catch recurring issues.
• Support pre-launch submission validation, audit requests, and data pulls.
• Engage with product and engineering to monitor upstream changes and communicate impact.
