Job summary

Upside is seeking a data analytics engineer to own a portfolio of dbt models, shaping data structures for marketing, product, and analytics use. You will design, test, and monitor models, turning vague asks into scoped work and tradeoffs, while writing design docs for teammates.

You will partner with Marketing, Data, and MarTech, adding monitoring, runbooks, and documentation. Expect to mentor engineers and contribute to a robust data platform leveraging Snowflake, dbt, Dagster, and AWS.

Qualifications

• SQL proficiency and performance mindset
• Experience building data models and analytics pipelines
• Ability to translate vague asks into scoped work with tradeoffs
• Proficiency in Python for orchestration and data transformations
• Familiarity with dbt, Snowflake, and modern orchestrators

Responsibilities

• Own and design, build, test, and monitor a scoped set of dbt models
• Turn marketing/product questions into concrete, well-scoped work
• Write design docs and breakdown work for teammates
• Add monitoring and alerting to data models
• Rotate on support, debug issues, and prevent recurrence
• Create runbooks and documentation for future ownership
• Mentor engineers on best practices in code reviews and daily work
