Job summary

Oscar Health is seeking an Analytics Engineer I to design and maintain dimensional models and data transformations within our unified data foundation. You will partner with domain experts to translate business logic into analytics-ready dimensional models supporting analytics use cases across the organization.

Under guidance from senior Analytics Engineers, you’ll build models, implement automated tests for data quality, and contribute to the semantic layer powering enterprise BI.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience with DBT or similar data transformation tool.
• 1+ year in Analytics Engineering, Data Science, or related field.
• 1+ year with cloud databases (GCP, AWS, Azure).
• 1+ year working with SQL.
• 1+ year in semantic modeling language (LookML).
• Strong communication with non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience building dimensional models (star schemas, slowly changing dimensions).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform and dbt.
• Experience with healthcare or insurance data.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain dimensional models and data transformations from raw data into analytics assets.
• Collaborate with domain experts to translate business logic into dimensional models for analytics use cases.
• Build and maintain models, implement automated tests for data quality.
• Contribute to semantic layer powering enterprise BI.
• Partner with SMEs and stakeholders to explore data and design solutions.
• Advance analytics engineering roadmap with small-to-medium projects.
• Assist in administration of analytics platform and access requests.
• Perform root cause analyses of data defects and escalate when needed.
