Job summary

Sciata is seeking an Analytics Engineer in The Woodlands, TX for a 6-12 month contract. The role focuses on building analytics-ready datasets, star-schema models, and scalable data solutions in collaboration with data teams and stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will own DBT modeling, Snowflake optimization, and dimensional design, while promoting engineering standards and best practices across the analytics platform.

Qualifications

• Hands-on DBT development and testing.
• Strong Snowflake and SQL optimization experience.
• Proven ability to design star-schema dimensional models.
• Experience with version control in a collaborative environment.
• Deep understanding of fact and dimension modeling and data warehousing concepts.
• Ability to communicate technical ideas to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain star-schema data models (fact and dimension tables).
• Build and support DBT models and testing frameworks for analytics-ready datasets.
• Develop, optimize, and troubleshoot Snowflake SQL workloads.
• Apply data modeling best practices for dimensional design, normalization, and denormalization.
• Partner with Data Engineers, BI Developers, Product Owners, and stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable solutions.
• Participate in design discussions, knowledge sharing, and peer reviews to promote standards.
• Support data delivery from ingestion through transformation to the semantic layer for reporting.
• Document modeling decisions and improve data architecture and engineering practices.
• Manage version control and collaborative development workflows using GitHub.
