Job Description Summary

This position reports to the Manager of Quality and Process Improvement and assists with the daily operations of the Analytics team.The Power BI Analyst will design, develop, and maintain dynamic dashboards and reports, delivering actionable insights to support business decisions. The incumbent will have a strong background in data visualization, report automation, and storytelling with Power BI.Qualifications

• The combined requirements are: a Bachelor's or University Degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field, plus three or more years of experience in Reporting/Analytical roles, specifically using Power BI for data visualizations. Additionally, intermediate experience in technical data analysis using Healthcare data, healthcare processes, and knowledge of medical terminologies like ICD10, CPT, and HCPCS is preferred.
• Advanced skills in establishing priorities, multi-tasking, time management, work independently with minimal supervision and train and coach others.
• Advanced level knowledge and experience using SQL, SAS, R, or Python for automation.
• Advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience using Data Analytics visual software (PowerBi, Tableau, PowerPivot).
• Ability to integrate PowerBi with other systems like Power Automate or SharePoint.
• Advanced computer experience with Microsoft Office Suite:Word, Excel, Visio, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Five (5)+ years’ experience in data extraction, data models, creating queries, relational databases, and report writing.
• Intermediate project management experience with the ability to facilitate group meetings, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to collaborate with various levels of leadership and others to present findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills.
• Internet access provided by a cable or fiber provider with 40 MB download and 10 MB upload speeds.
• Maintain a HIPAA-compliant workstation and utilize appropriate security techniques to ensure HIPAA-required protection of all confidential/protected client data
• Home router with wired Ethernet (wireless connections and hotspots are not permitted).
• A designated room for home office or steps taken to protect company information (e.g., facing computer towards wall, etc.)
• A functioning smoke detector, fire extinguisher, and first aid kit on site.
  
  

Duties And Responsibilities

Reporting

• Act as subject matter expert to other team members
• Build interactive Power BI dashboards for business functions, incorporating advanced DAX and Power Query techniques.
• Create visualizations for KPIs, trends, and operational performance to support decision-making.
• Design and maintain robust data models to integrate multiple data sources (e.g., SQL databases, Excel files, APIs).
• Ensure data accuracy and completeness by implementing automated data validation processes.
• Convert manual reports into automated Power BI workflows to improve efficiency and reduce errors.
• Schedule and maintain automated data refresh processes.
• Develop ad-hoc reports for business stakeholders based on specific project requirements.
• Analyze business data to identify actionable insights and deliver recommendations.
• Track performance metrics and flag anomalies using real-time dashboards.
• Support forecasting and predictive analytics by building statistical models in Power BI.
  
  

Project/Admin Support

• Collaborate with business teams to gather detailed reporting requirements and ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Act as a liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders to translate technical information into non-technical terms.
• Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation for all Power BI dashboards, including data sources, queries, and business logic.
• Document troubleshooting guides and best practices for data visualization.
• Provide training sessions for team members and end-users to maximize the value of Power BI dashboards.
• Serve as the first point of contact for troubleshooting Power BI-related issues.
• Assist in prioritizing dashboard requests and managing project timelines.
• Monitor project milestones and ensure timely delivery of Power BI solutions.
• Present findings, dashboards, and insights to senior management and business stakeholders in a concise, visually compelling manner.
• Gather feedback from end-users to continuously improve reporting solutions.
  
  

Process Improvement

• Identify inefficiencies in existing reporting processes and propose solutions using Power BI’s automation capabilities.
• Integrate Power BI with Power Automate and other tools to streamline workflows and reduce manual intervention.
• Establish data governance protocols to ensure consistency, accuracy, and security in reporting.
• Regularly audit data sources and processes to identify and fix discrepancies.
• Improve dashboard performance by optimizing DAX queries, reducing data load times, and restructuring models.
• Recommend and implement strategies to improve Power BI system scalability.
• Create standardized Power BI templates for common reporting needs to reduce development time and ensure consistency.
• Develop best practices and training guides for Power BI usage across the organization.
• Continuously monitor emerging Power BI features and train team members on new capabilities.
• Work with cross-functional teams to align reporting processes with organizational goals.
• Share knowledge and mentor team members on improving their technical skills in Power BI.
