Job summary

MilliporeSigma in Urbana, IL is seeking a Quality Control Scientist to join a small team performing complex analytical testing of inorganic materials on ICP-MS, ICP-OES, Karl Fischer, auto titrator, TGA-DSC, UV-VIS, and related equipment.

You will prepare samples, run tests, analyze data, and make usage decisions for materials produced on site, while ensuring ISO 9001:2015 compliance and collaborating with other departments to deliver timely QC lab results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Life Science.
• 4+ years of analytical lab experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare samples and perform testing on inorganic materials.
• Analyze data and make usage decisions for samples and finished goods.
• Ensure ISO 9001:2015 compliance and company guidelines.
• Communicate with departments to ensure on-time QC lab deliverables.
• Collaborate with QC staff and help develop procedures.
• Compute chemical calculations and unit conversions.
• Investigate Out of Specification/Trend results and customer complaints.
• Lead projects and drive process improvements with quality and safety in mind.
