Job summary

HireTalent - Staffing & Recruiting Firm in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a Laboratory Technician (1st shift) to support GC/MS and LC/MS/MS data processing and reporting for drugs of abuse. The position is a 6-month assignment with potential extension, Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Qualifications

A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, biology, or a related field.
The ability to work safely with biological specimens, chemicals, equipment, and instruments.
Experience with biological specimens and/or analytical instruments (LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

Read, understand, and follow written Standard Operating Procedures
Correctly identify analyzed samples and verify the accuracy of the sequence for each batch
Process acquired instrument data and generate appropriate reports
Conduct the first review of GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS analytical data by each assay SOP
Transcribe or upload results to the LIS for final review and certification
Maintain proper and adequate Chain of Custody batch documentation
Communicate with supervisors and promptly escape emerging challenges
Maintain and promote a safe, healthful environment for self and co-workers
