Job summary

HireTalent - Staffing & Recruiting Firm in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a Laboratory Technician (1st shift) to support GC/MS and LC/MS/MS data processing and reporting for drugs of abuse. The position is a 6-month assignment with potential extension, Tuesday–Saturday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in chemistry, analytical chemistry, biology, or a related field.
• The ability to work safely with biological specimens, chemicals, equipment, and instruments.
• Experience with biological specimens and/or analytical instruments (LC/MS/MS and/or GC/MS) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read, understand, and follow written Standard Operating Procedures
• Correctly identify analyzed samples and verify the accuracy of the sequence for each batch
• Process acquired instrument data and generate appropriate reports
• Conduct the first review of GC/MS and/or LC/MS/MS analytical data by each assay SOP
• Transcribe or upload results to the LIS for final review and certification
• Maintain proper and adequate Chain of Custody batch documentation
• Communicate with supervisors and promptly escape emerging challenges
• Maintain and promote a safe, healthful environment for self and co-workers
