Job summary

Henkel seeks a Laboratory Leader for the Adhesive Technologies R&D group in Madison Heights, MI. You will manage daily team activities, coordinate with customers on project priorities, and ensure compliance with ISO/ASTM/SAE standards while driving quality improvements.

You’ll oversee lab operations, inventory, safety and interface with stakeholders to align growth and planning. A science degree and 7+ years of lab experience are required, with strong presentation and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in science-related field.
• 7+ years' laboratory experience with a focus in Corrosion and Physical testing preferred.
• Strong communication and negotiation with team and customers.
• Proficient in presenting at business and technical levels.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Familiar with Laboratory Management System (LIMS).
• Statistical & Quality background.
• Proficient at reviewing ASTM, SAE, etc. methods for proper execution.
• Independent critical thinking for process improvements & troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Manage Team daily activities
• Coordinate with customers for priorities of projects
• Manage and maintain Quality Standards (ISO 9001, ISO 16949, ISO 17025)
• Interface with internal/external stakeholders for growth and planning
• Maintain current ASTM, SAE, etc. to keep with current standards
• Manage inventory, housekeeping and safety for laboratories
• Track and highlight contributions through tours, newsletters, presentations, etc.
• Provide technical guidance through experience and critical thinking
