Job summary

Forge Biologics, based in Columbus, OH, seeks an Associate Scientist II, Analytical Development, to advance protein-based assays for AAV gene therapies. You will execute complex assays, develop robust protocols, and collaborate across teams to ensure data quality and assay reliability.

You will work in a fast-paced environment with mentorship, hands‑on learning, and opportunities to grow as the company scales its gene therapy programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in biology/biochemistry/molecular biology.
• Proficiency in advanced laboratory techniques related to protein-based assays.
• Experience with assay development and optimization.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and recommend solutions.
• Strong data analysis skills and the ability to generate actionable insights from experimental results.

Responsibilities

• Lead execution of complex protein-based assays independently and troubleshoot issues.
• Develop and optimize protein-based assays, including protocol development and validation.
• Collaborate with scientists to analyze and interpret data.
• Mentor junior team members and share know-how.
• Support transfer of assays between teams or sites.
• Contribute to project planning and ensure timely delivery of results.
• Assist in preparation of regulatory documents and submissions.
• Stay current with industry trends and implement best practices in assay development.
• Implement quality control measures to ensure reliability of assays.
• Engage in continuous improvement of processes and methodologies.
