Job summary

Legend Biotech is seeking a Scientist I, Analytical Development in Somerset, NJ to establish, develop, and qualify analytical methods for cell therapy products. You will support compendial methods, flow cytometry, cell-based potency, and immunoassays in a fast-paced lab environment.

The role emphasizes method authoring, data integrity, safety, and collaboration with PD, QC, and Manufacturing to enable product characterization and release testing for Legend’s pipeline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master’s with 3-5 years, or PhD with 0-2 years.
• Strong lab background including flow cytometry, mammalian cell culture, ELISA, and cell-based assays.
• Experience implementing or executing compendial methods and working in a regulated environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and execute analytical methods for viral vector and CAR-T product characterization.
• Author and review methods, protocols, and reports.
• Maintain reagent inventory and order materials as needed.
• Generate and qualify critical materials for analytical methods.
• Observe laboratory safety standards including PPE and BSL2 practices.
• Perform pre-qualification, assay qualification, release testing, and product characterization in QA/QC settings.
• Tech transfer of methods to QC and external collaborators.
• Maintain electronic lab records per ALCOA+ standards.
• Peer review and data integrity reviews in analytical and QC environments.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with PD, QC and Manufacturing teams.
