The Scientist I, Analytical Development will join the R&D team in Somerset, NJ, to establish and qualify analytical methods supporting product characterization, release, and stability testing of Legend’s cell therapy pipeline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5 or more years of relevant experience.
• Master’s degree with 3 to 5 years of experience.
• PhD with 0 to 2 years of experience.
• Strong laboratory background including flow cytometry, mammalian cell culture, ELISA, and cell-based assays.
• Experience implementing or executing compendial methods is preferred.
• Experience with lentiviral vector characterization, including infectious titer, potency, and transduction efficacy assays.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Regulatory understanding for method qualification and QC environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop, optimize, and execute analytical methods for viral vectors and CAR‑T products.
• Author and review methods, protocols, and reports.
• Maintain reagent inventory and order materials.
• Generate and qualify materials for analytical methods.
• Adhere to safety standards including PPE and BSL2 practices.
• Conduct pre-qualification, assay qualification, release testing, and product characterization in QC.
• Transfer methods to QC and external collaborators.
• Maintain electronic lab records following ALCOA+ standards.
• Perform peer reviews and data integrity checks.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with PD, QC and Manufacturing.
• Present data at internal and external forums.
• Balance multiple projects and timelines.
• Make day-to-day assay development decisions in collaboration with management.
