American Battery Technology Company in Reno, NV is seeking an Analytical Chemist to support our lithium-ion battery recycling and metal extraction processes. You will operate ICP-OES, IC, TOC, GC-FID/MS, and related instruments, analyze data, and help produce CoAs for commercial-scale battery materials.
You will work with R&D, engineering and plant ops to ensure instrument uptime, proper sample prep, and compliance with GLP while training staff and maintaining supplies.

AsAnalyticalChemist,theincumbenthelpsperformallfacetsoflaboratory operations andchemicalanalyses to supportprocessdesign& implementationofour proprietary lithium-ion battery recycling processesand primary resource extraction technologies.This candidate will work closely with our engineering organization, our plant operations team,and ourR&D teamto ensure the successful design, construction,and operations of our facilities.
Our pilot plant inMcCarren, Nevadaisthe first integrated implementation of our multi-step processing train for the full mechanical processing, physical separations, chemical extractions, and production of commercial-scale battery metals that will be resold back into the battery manufacturing supply chain to enact a low-cost, low-environmental impact, and domestically sourced closed-loop circular economy.This position willreportto theDirector of Analytical Services.
Perform routineoperation of analytical instrumentationaccording tostandardizedoperating procedures(SOP),including but not limited to
Performdata analysis, validation, and reporting of quality control testing to supportcommercial-scale battery metalssold to the battery manufacturing supply chainincluding
Help coordinate analytical chemistry lab operations, including but not limited to
Ensureasafe laboratory work environmentbyadheringto Good Laboratory Practices(GLP)including
A background inAnalytical Chemistry/Chemical Engineeringwith3or more yearsof laboratory experienceoperatinginstrumentationandperforming samplepreparation
Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling activitiesrequired to move laboratory equipment and consumables such as instrumentation,compressed gas cylinders,and dewars.
Positional demands of the jobsuch as standing at sample processing and analytical instrumentationon benchtops and in chemical fume hoodsas well as sitting at computer workstations processinganalytical data.
$30/hr - $40/hr
Compensation for this position may vary based on a number of individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The total compensation package may also include additional components such as bonus, equity, and benefits, which will be detailed upon offer of employment.
