As the Analyst, Strategic Finance at Talkiatry, you will be at the forefront of driving our financial strategy and ensuring our continued growth and success. You will have the unique opportunity to partner across the organization to drive strategic decision-making by leveraging data and analysis. This role demands a highly analytical and strategic thinker who can rapidly dissect complex quantitative problems and provide actionable insights to stakeholders.

This high-impact, highly visible role is part of the Strategic Finance team, which is essential in shaping our long-term business strategy and execution.

About us:
Talkiatry transforms psychiatry with accessible, human, and responsible care. We’re a national mental health practice co-founded by a patient and a triple-board-certified psychiatrist to solve the problems both groups face in accessing and providing the highest quality treatment.

60% of adults in the U.S. with a diagnosable mental illness go untreated every year because care is inaccessible, while 45% of clinicians are out of network with insurers because reimbursement rates are low and paperwork is unduly burdensome. With innovative technology and a human-centered philosophy, we provide patients with the care they need—and allow psychiatrists to focus on why they got into medicine.

You will:

  • Support the Director of Strategic Finance to drive strategy and operational rigor within Talkiatry’s revenue growth pillars
  • Build financial forecasts and targets, track performance, and analyze deviations from actuals to provide insights into financial health of revenue growth pillars
  • Continually improve the accuracy of forecasts through a deep understanding of business performance and drivers
  • Leverage financial and operational data to evaluate and analyze new business opportunities
  • Track and monitor metrics and key performance indicators; partner with the Data team to develop tools and dashboards to make these metrics widely accessible across Talkiatry
  • Support various financial work streams including the month end close process, Board materials, investor reporting, and fundraising activities

You have:

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 2-3 years of professional experience, ideally in a mix of financial services (Investment Banking / Private Equity) and highly analytical roles at a fast-growing company (Strategic Finance / Strategy & Ops / BizOps)
  • Technical Knowledge and Skills: You possess exceptional analytical skills, including advanced Excel proficiency & SQL proficiency, with a proven ability to digest large amounts of data and focus on the most important details
  • Technical Knowledge and Skills: You have a strong analytical mindset with expert financial modeling abilities and can effectively translate data into actionable insights, strategies, and financial plans
  • Work Standards: You value precision and accuracy in your work and can rapidly dissect complex quantitative problems
  • Building Trust: You have a proven ability to build strong cross-functional relationships and interact with others in a way that instills confidence in your intentions and those of the organization
  • High Energy: You demonstrate a high-energy, high-integrity style and excel at prioritizing both long-term strategic projects and ad hoc urgent requests in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Professionalism: You maintain a high level of integrity and can handle highly sensitive and confidential communications with discretion

Why Talkiatry:

  • Top-notch team: we're a diverse, experienced group motivated to make a difference in mental health care
  • Collaborative environment: be part of building something from the ground up at a fast-paced startup
  • Flexible location: work where you want to, either remotely across the U.S. or from our HQ in NYC
  • Excellent benefits: medical, dental, vision, effective day 1 of employment, 401K with match, generous PTO plus paid holidays, paid parental leave, and more!
