Job summary

Apogem Capital in Austin, Texas, is seeking an Analyst to support the real assets team in sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring investments within a growing private equity platform.

You will manage the team’s pipeline, perform market mapping, attend meetings, and present investment findings in weekly reviews.

The firm offers a competitive benefits package, with a base salary range of $80,000–$100,000 and discretionary bonus eligibility based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Review industry news daily and enter new investments into proprietary database
• Own database management, including generation of team’s pipeline and forward calendar
• Perform industry and strategy market mapping
• Attend prospective manager meetings and calls. Generate meeting notes and quick screen evaluations
• Present investment evaluation findings in weekly team meetings
• Attend industry conferences
• Support deal team in assessment of investment opportunities
• Attend investment committee meetings and own documentation of commitments and approvals
• Opportunity to increasingly lead aspects of investment diligence including creation/drafting of investment memos, quantitative analysis, etc.
• Complete post-closing documentation for new investments
• Monitor investments on a regular basis, capturing relevant dataTrack capital call and distribution activity and forecasts
• Monitor investment performance and track AGM and LPAC participation
• Support marketing and other various requests from existing and prospective investors
• Support client service in development of existing and prospective investor communications
• Collaborate with other Apogem investment teams to develop best practices, share diligence findings, etc.
• Integrate AI into workflows

The Opportunity:

The Analyst will work in the alternative investment management industry at a high-quality, growing firm and will gain exposure to private real assets. The Analyst will support the real assets team in the sourcing, evaluation, and monitoring of investments.

Apogem’s dedicated private real assets team has raised and deployed three funds, representing over $1 billion of capital, since launching in late 2014. The team is actively investing out of its fourth fund and is based in Austin, Texas, a market at the center of the convergence of energy and technology.

The strategy is highly opportunistic and value-oriented, with a focus on direct equity co-investments as well as selective secondary opportunities. It seeks to provide sector diversification through investments in energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and related services.

The mandate seeks to generate high absolute returns, targeting a 2.0x MOIC and 20% IRR, along with significant yield.

The Analyst will have the opportunity to interact with all levels of equity and credit investment professionals and members of Apogem Capital’s Senior Leadership Team. • Support marketing and other various requests from existing and prospective investors

Pay Transparency

Salary range: $80,000-$100,000

Discretionary bonus eligible: Yes

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual’s experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
