Apogem Capital is seeking an Analyst to support the real assets team in sourcing, evaluating, and monitoring investments. The role offers exposure to private real assets, with a focus on direct equity co-investments and selective secondaries, based in Austin, TX, with a hybrid work model.

The Analyst will assist in deal sourcing, diligence, and performance reporting, interacting with investment professionals and senior leadership.

The Analyst will support the real assets team in the sourcing, evaluation, and monitoring of investments.Apogem’s dedicated private real assets team has raised and deployed three funds, representing over $1 billion of capital, since launching in late 2014. The team is actively investing out of its fourth fund and is based in Austin, Texas, a market at the center of the convergence of energy and technology.The strategy is highly opportunistic and value-oriented, with a focus on direct equity co-investments as well as selective secondary opportunities. It seeks to provide sector diversification through investments in energy, infrastructure, agriculture, mining, and related services.The mandate seeks to generate high absolute returns, targeting a 2.0x MOIC and 20% IRR, along with significant yield.The Analyst will have the opportunity to interact with all levels of equity and credit investment professionals and members of Apogem Capital’s Senior Leadership Team. Sourcing and investment screeninga. Review industry news daily and enter new investments into proprietary databaseb. Own database management, including generation of team’s pipeline andforward calendarc. Perform industry and strategy market mappingd. Attend prospective manager meetings and calls. Generate meeting notes and quick screen evaluationse. Present investment evaluation findings in weekly team meetingsf. Attend industry conferences2. Diligence supporta. Support deal team in assessment of investment opportunitiesb. Support senior investment professionals in diligence documentationc. Attend investment committee meetings and own documentation of commitments and approvalsd. Opportunity to increasingly lead aspects of investment diligence including creation/drafting of investment memos, quantitative analysis, etc.3. Performance reporting and portfolio monitoringa. Complete post-closing documentation for new investmentsb. Monitor investments on a regular basis, capturing relevant datac. Track capital call and distribution activity and forecastsd.
