Patient Relations Manager

Role Description

Oak Street Health takes a team-based approach to providing outstanding patient care. Our Service Team builds individual relationships with our patients and ensures they are satisfied with their experience. The team is responsible for delivering excellent, high-touch assistance to our patients daily.

Patient Relations Managers (PRMs) are integral to our team. They are insurance experts at each clinic, advocating for patients by helping them navigate insurance options and bills. They serve as resources for the care and outreach teams regarding Medicare and eligibility, especially during Open Enrollment, ensuring patients are informed of all their options.

Core Responsibilities
  • Learn about Medicare and assist patients with insurance navigation.
  • Serve as an internal resource on insurance questions for clinic staff.
  • Help patients navigate the healthcare system and resolve medical bills, advocating for them.
  • Build and maintain trusting relationships with patients to advise on healthcare coverage.
  • Manage welcome visits and orientation for new patients.
  • Assist patients with applying for public benefits.
  • Support operational activities like scheduling and billing as needed.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to enhance patient experience.
  • Foster patient engagement through events and center tours.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Problem-solving skills and a positive attitude.
  • Willingness to help build and refine our operating model.
  • Experience with and supportive attitude towards older adult populations.
  • Proficient PC skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Fluency in Spanish, Polish, Russian, or other relevant languages is a plus.
  • US work authorization.

Additional Details

Hours: 40 hours/week

Employment: Full-time

Pay Range: $21.10 - $40.90 per hour, based on experience and other factors.
