Job summary

RBC in Minneapolis seeks a senior-cost-basis supervisor to provide supervisory guidance, training, and process improvements across the department. You will coach staff, handle escalations, and partner with branches to resolve complex inquiries while improving efficiency and compliance. Strong cost-basis expertise and Excel proficiency are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • 4-year degree or equivalent and 5+ years in securities, banking, technology, or related industry.
  • 3+ years of related securities, banking, technology, or industry experience.
  • Previous cost basis expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Determining needs and suggesting solutions for administrative improvements in procedures, processes, or systems to support other functions.
  • Identifying needs and suggesting solutions for customization or alterations of technical tools to support unusual or new business requirements.
  • To collect and analyze information.
  • Address escalated questions independently, seeking assistance from Senior Manager or other Operations resources as appropriate.
  • Conduct operations process oversight on complex exception-based and/or highly specialized processes to ensure adherence to department procedures, risks are mitigated, and regulatory requirements are met.
  • Provide support with department volume metrics, staffing models, financial forecasts, and budgets as required.
  • Reduce risk, increase efficiencies, or enrich customer service by suggesting process changes and/or system modifications.

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • 4-year degree from an accredited university or equivalent or High school diploma or equivalent AND 5+ years of securities, banking, technology and/or job specific industry experience
  • 3+ years prior securities, banking, technology and/or job specific related industry experience
  • Previous cost basis expertise
Nice-to-have
  • Fully proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and management.
  • Previous experience with cost basis
  • Advanced problem identification, analytical and resolution skills required to support escalated issue resolution and/or oversight requirements associated with exception-based complex processes
  • Securities license 7 or 99

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $55,000 - $95,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
