The Office of AIDS (OA) is an office within the California Department of Public Health, Center for Infectious Diseases, Division of HIV, HCV, and STIs. The AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) Branch, within OA, helps ensure that people living with HIV/AIDS who are uninsured and under insured have access to medication on ADAP’s formulary. Insurance premium payment programs within the ADAP Branch provides assistance designed to ensure access to medical care and treatment for people living with HIV/AIDS.

This position supports the California Department of Public Health’s (CDPH) mission and strategic plan by advancing health equity and strategic planning objectives, and by promoting recognition and reduction of infection burden among California’s most vulnerable populations through improvements in workplace culture and practice. ADAP Branch oversees the administration of high-profile, federally funded programs that provide life-saving medications and insurance premium assistance to eligible individuals living with or in need of prevention against human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) in California. The Analyst III serves as a highly skilled technical and analytical program consultant, providing independent oversight and expert guidance across Office of AIDS (OA) programs. The incumbent manages key contracts, coordinates federal grants, leads budget amendments and survey coordination, and supports policy development for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP). The incumbent works under the general direction of the Supervisor I, Chief of the Contracts and Grants Unit (CGU). In July 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program (PLP 2025). This program temporarily reduces employees’ monthly base pay in exchange for paid leave credits. This position is subject to PLP 2025 and will have a monthly base pay reduction of 3% in exchange for 5 hours of leave credits through June 2027.
